•The event is open to four-wheel vehicles of any year, make, or model, except where limited by individual class rules. Motorcycle-based vehicles are not allowed.
•Equipment rules apply to both the street and track portions of the event.
•All vehicles with an e.t. of 9.99 or faster should have a fluid containment system (either a diaper or fluid containment pan) while on the race track.
•All vehicles must meet WDRA/NHRA safety rules for the e.t. and speed they are capable of, and drivers must be WDRA, IHRA or NHRA licensed if required. Track officials will not accept time slips that are quicker or faster than the car or driver’s teched legal e.t. and mph. Running quicker than the safety equipment or driver’s race license allows is cause for disqualification at the discretion of the Race Director.
•Vehicles in all classes may use any fuel provided the car and the driver have the required safety equipment required by the NHRA for that fuel type.

Any street car not meeting our FAST or Factory Stock rules. Any year, make or model allowed. Must have full interior. All newer cars allowed. Hellcats, Camaros, GTO’s, Mustangs ect, Also classic cars running headers, stroker kits, engine swaps, after market intakes, non original carbs ect are allowed. For example your 69 Camaro has a LS, perfect it fits right in. Have a Gen III Hemi in your Super Bee, great, bring it out! Have a 70 nova with a 383 stroker and some aftermarket heads? Show up and run Modern Muscle. This class is NOT for gutted big tire cars, bracket cars, or cars with open headers and no interior. If you show up and we feel like you don’t fit the spirit of the class we will have you run an Index class.

open comp
General Description Open Comp class is designed for any year, make, and model vehicle & truck. Dragsters and roadsters prohibited. SUVs (such as Ford Explorer, Chevy Blazer, etc.) permitted. The Open Comp class will run on an Open Comp format with a 1-tenth (1/10th) breakout.
Qualifying Information, Ladder Type, & Tree. All Run, NHRA Sportsman Ladder, Pro .500 Tree, Handicap Start. Courtesy Stage. Laddered first round, paired according to qualifying positions, and then advance to eliminations. The class will be qualified by positive reaction time in the qualifying sessions. Positive reaction time (r/t) closest to “.000” based on a Pro .500 Tree. “.000” is considered perfect. Any negative r/t (-.001, -1.231, etc.) will be placed at the bottom of the qualifying ladder, the more negative the r/t is, the farther down the ladder the run will be placed. For cases in which identical reaction times are made, qualifying position will be based on a first-come first served: the first occurring r/t will be placed #1, the second occurrence of said r/t will be placed #2, and so on.
If weather has caused the loss of one or more rounds of qualifying sessions, any entrants not qualified will be required to choose an index of their choice, between 8.50 – 15.70. Competitor must submit their index to the race director on the last day of qualifying. Competitors will compete with their chosen index through eliminations. Any competitors who fail to submit their index on the qualifying day will automatically be assigned a 15.70 index.
ET LIMITS The quickest qualifying ET permitted in this class is 8.60. The slowest qualifying ET permitted in this class is 15.70. Any qualifying pass quicker than 8.599 or slower than 15.701 will be disqualified and will not be counted. Competitor will be permitted to re-qualify if additional qualifying rounds are left . If a competitor makes all Qualifying attempts under the class minimum of 8.600, that competitor will be placed at the bottom of the qualifying sheet and his index will be 8.70 for eliminations. If a competitor makes all Qualifying attempts over the class maximum of 15.701, that competitor will be placed at the bottom of the qualifying order and his index will be 15.70 for eliminations. RULES & REGULATIONS Any modifications, vehicle weight, or power adders permitted. Any gear change must occur as a result of an internal function of the transmission or from direct ac on by the driver. Electronically Controlled Pneuma c, electric, hydraulic, etc. shifters prohibited. Trans-brakes and 2-steps permitted.
WHEELS Spindle-mount front wheels prohibited.
TIRES All Driven Tires must be DOT approved drag radials or race slicks.
CHASSIS All vehicles must have a chassis that meets the guidelines set by SFI for their respective speed and elapsed me. A valid NHRA serialized Chassis sticker is mandatory for any car running 9.99 (6.39 = 1/8 mile) or quicker, or 135mph or faster at a NHRA member track.
RACING AIDS / IGNITION Delay boxes, cross-over boxes, or any “reaction- me related” electronic bracket racing aids prohibited in this class. Mechanical thro le stop devices permitted (not adjustable during a run or from the driver’s compartment). All Electronic Throttle Stops and related thro le-stop type accessories prohibited. All Ignition Components and/or Transbrake buttons must be on the approved NHRA list.
FUEL Racing gasoline, gasoline, alcohol, gashohol, diesel, ethanol, natural gas, and propane permitted. Nitromethane prohibited.
LANE CHOICE During qualifying and eliminations, it is the responsibility of the competitors to determine lane choice. If the competitors are unable to establish lane choice, a staging official will make the determination in the manner he/she chooses (i.e., coin flip, random choice, faster car, etc.)
DRIVER The driver when in the vehicle, from the ready line until the vehicle is safely stopped on the return road, is required to have all safety restraint systems (including the helmet) on and be securely fastened in the vehicle at all times
CREDENTIALS A Valid state or government issued driver’s license beyond a learner/s permit level mandatory for cars running 10.00 or slower. A Valid NHRA competition license is mandatory for cars running 9.99 or quicker.

Small Block Chevy, Ford, Mopar minimum weight 3000 pounds with a maximum Cubic Inch of 440.
Big Block Chevy, Ford, Mopar minimum weight 3300 pounds with a maximum Cubic Inch of 565.
Engine must be a corporate engine to corporate body match (i.e. – Ford/Ford, GM/GM, Mopar/Mopar)
Stock bore space blocks only – No billet blocks.
All Motors will be pumped (P/G) for compliance and sealed at indiscriminate times at any race.
Any time a seal is broken, engine will be required for re-pumped and reseal.
Any infraction (CHEATING) can or will result in immediate disqualification from series.
Heads OEM STYLE means standard port and valve layout front to rear, and port height within reason of understanding what commercially is available for conventional heads. (No billet heads) This definition will be subjective under MOTORCITY MUSCLE CHALLENGE tech discretion.
Big Block Chevy, Mopar, Ford Conventional OEM style heads. Minimum weight of 3300 pounds
No billet heads- No hybrid OEM Style racing heads – No SR20 style BBC heads, only normal conventional aftermarket heads such as those from Brodix, Dart, BMF, AFR, B1, Indy, TFS etc. allowed. No intake port height limitations.
Big Block Buick, Oldsmobile & Pontiac Conventional OEM style heads. No billet heads- No hybrid OEM Style racing heads.
Tech will use discretion when considering legality of heads presented to advisory board.
Small Block Chevy, Mopar, Ford Conventional layout, in-line valve style heads. Minimum weight 3000 pounds. No port height limitations. Non inline cylinder heads such as SB2, Yates Style, may run with 75 lb. penalty. (No billet heads)
LS Based Engines – In-line heads allowed at base weight. MAST STR8 Jacket and CID BE-LS inline heads add 75 lbs. Other similar style heads not specified here will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Canted and/or splayed valve heads such as Mast Mozez or Edelbrock LS-R heads –Add 125lbs. (No billet heads)
Carburetors Any commercially available 4150 style 4 bbl. single carburetor allowed. Little Bo’- Get’M Garage style 4150 carbs with twin blades are allowed. Throttle Blades: TB 1200, Holley 4150, 1.75” Braswell 1.75”, Gary Williams D Blade 1.75”

Intake Manifolds
Any COTS (commercial off the shelf) commercially, “out of the box, bolt on” one piece cast aluminum intake manifold allowed. No external modifications, no custom, “one off” manufactured, no cast blank intake machined and modified to fit, no cutting and welding runners and/or mounting flanges, no re-drilling flange (bolt holes must remain as machined in COTS production) and manifolds must have manufacturers part number identification visible as provided by manufacturer when new.
Any design allowed but must fit under the hood.
No tunnel rams or bolt together style intake manifolds allowed – NO EXCEPTIONS! (This includes top to base or side to side).
No intake spacers of any kind allowed – intake must bolt directly to cylinder heads. (All reviewed at technical advisor’s discretion*)
Transmissions
Auto Transmissions: Any auto trans allowed. Adapters are permitted. Trans brakes permitted. Automatic transmission entries run at listed base weights. Pneumatic, electric, hydraulic, etc. shifters, lock up convertors prohibited. Traction control prohibited. Any gear change must occur from direct action by the driver.
Manual Transmissions: Any style manual transmission allowed. No limits on clutch style. Add 75lbs
Body
Stock steel fenders, steel doors, steel trunk lid. (Magnets will be present)
Stock located factory steel firewall and factory steel floor pan are required.
Factory appearing rear spoilers allowed. (Rear Wings allowed)
Fiberglass bumpers allowed.
Fiberglass hoods allowed
Pro Glass- Optic Armor type glass is permitted provided it is attached and installed (butyl, glue etc.) as OEM size and style glass with the OEM fashioned trim. No nuts, bolts, screws, rivets etc. allowed.
Must appear as factory or OEM by tech directors.
Hood
Limited to 6″ cowl style hood. (+/- ½”) No forward cut outs in hood permitted.
The 6-inch maximum means anywhere along the cowl scoop profile, measured against the primary surface of the hood.
No single point of the cowl allowed to be measure more than 6″.
No aftermarket forward facing hood scoops.
No restrictions on air intake position. i.e. under the car, grill area, windshield etc.
Frame
Factory frame rails required, front to back. May be mini-tubbed with narrowed frame rails. Modifications allowed for clearance only.
Rear Suspension
Stock Leaf Spring or Stock Coil Suspension
Coil over shocks allowed.
Traction Bars, Cal Tracs, Slide-a-Link or Torque Arms are permitted.

Front Suspension
Front suspension must represent the “stock type” suspension for the model car being used.
“Stock Type” refers to any custom parts used must mount directly to stock suspension points.
Cars originally equipped with A-Arms must continue to use A-Arms on the stock mounting points. Aftermarket A-Arms which are adjustable are acceptable.
Cars equipped with Struts, must utilize struts in the original strut towers. Manipulation for proper geometry within the tower is acceptable.
Bolt on K-Member style cradles for late model cars are acceptable but must follow the Strut and A-Arm rules. Coil over front shocks allowed.
No Spindle mount wheels.
Rear Tires
Tires limited to 9×26, 9×28, 9×29, 9×29.5 or 9×30 slicks only. (Radial sidewalls permitted)
Lower Engine Containment Device or Diaper Required
Oil Retention Device:
• Diaper Device may be custom-built ballistic blanket-style (Diapers: They do not have to be SFI rated.)
• Metal bucket device or metal pan may be no longer than the engine from the front of crankshaft to the rear of the flywheel.
• Pan must be inside the frame rails and fabricated to retain oil\liquid.
• Pan must attach to the frame via conventional fasteners or straps.
• Pan must be a minimum of 3 inches above ground.
